Have you heard about the lobster analogy around shedding its shell in order to grow?
🦞It goes like this: A lobster is a soft animal stuffed inside a tough exterior (shell). As it grows, its shell starts to become confining, and the lobster feels uncomfortable and under pressure. It no longer fits. To solve for this, it goes under a rocky shelf for protection, casts off its existing shell, and produces a new one. This process is very stressful and leaves the lobster vulnerable, but it is necessary in order to grow and become a bigger/mightier version of itself.
This had me thinking about the benefits of coaching and the transformation that can take place if you are willing to be vulnerable and trust the process. Just like a lobster, it may be time to shed your shell and grow. Coaching offers a safe space where you can learn how to break free from your current limitations and reach your full potential. You too can cast off your old shell and produce a new one that fits you better.
🦞Change can be scary and vulnerable - AND necessary in order to grow.
